Breathtaking Karnak & Luxor Temples: Journey Through Time

Whilst in Egypt, we had Mike at Go Luxor organise our entire two weeks of tours and transfers. Not only was the service exceptional but the entire process was seamless and allowed us to have a holiday without stress! Mike himself took us to Karnak and Luxor temple, definitely my favourites of the trip- he was an amazing guide, knew all the facts and was a built-in photographer capturing our favourite pics of the trip! I will be recommending go Luxor tours to everyone I know visiting Egypt and only hope we can come back again for the desert tour with Mike.

Shereen was an outstanding guide , extremely knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind. She answered every question with confidence and even brought her own photos to help us understand the history and details more clearly, which was a brilliant idea and made the whole experience much richer. It’s rare to meet a guide who is so well-prepared, patient, and truly passionate about what she does. We felt completely taken care of the entire time and can honestly say she’s one of the best guides we’ve ever had. Special thanks also to the Go Luxor team, who were incredibly kind and flexible when we unexpectedly got sick and had to move our tour to another day. They responded immediately, were understanding and supportive, and made sure everything worked out perfectly for us. We’re deeply grateful for that. Overall, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish , we can only highly recommend both Shereen and Go Luxor!

My husband and I traveled to Egypt on our honeymoon this summer and were unsure how to start planning our daily activities. We reached out to Go Luxor Tours and connected with Michael through email and WhatsApp. From the beginning, his communication was quick, clear, and professional, which made organizing our trip so much easier. Michael helped us prioritize which ancient sites were truly worth visiting and which we could skip to make room for other activities. In Luxor, we were thrilled to learn that our guide was Michael, who we had been communicating with for months. On top of being a guide, he was the perfect photographer and captured plenty of memories during our tours. In Cairo, our guide was Fady, who was equally knowledgeable about the pyramids, museums and necropolises that we visited. He was friendly and passionate about Egyptian history and culture and answered all of our questions with patience and interest. During our Cairo by Night tour, Fady helped us navigate the busy city effortlessly, making sure we felt safe and comfortable, while also explaining the history of the city's mosques and architecture. We truly can't recommend Go Luxor Tours highly enough. They made our experience feel like we were exploring Egypt with friends rather than just guides and they helped to turn our honeymoon into the trip of a lifetime. From the beginning Mike was incredibly helpful in planning our trip through Egypt with Go Luxor Tours. He helped us design an itinerary to see everything we wanted to see in Cairo and Luxor, we just had to book our own hotels which was nice because then we could stay where we wanted, though he also gave us recommendations for places to stay and we went with both of his suggestions, they were great!We then got to spend 2 days with Mike as our tour guide visiting the West Bank of Luxor for the valley of the kings and temple of Hatshepsut one day with a stop to see how alabaster is used. Mike was incredibly informative and friendly. He answered all of our questions and helped us choose the more interesting tombs to visit in the valley of the kings always making sure to find us shade or a cooler place when he was telling us about the history of each location as it was 50C. He helped us find great locations for pictures and even took us to a lovely spice shop when I asked if he had any recommendations for places to buy spices. Mike even joined us for a sunset cruise on the Nile giving us the opportunity to learn even more about Egyptian culture. The next day we toured Karnak and Luxor temples, stopped at a perfume/oil shop where I didn’t think we’d buy anything but still walked out with a couple essential oils because they were so good, and then Mike got us the best falafel in Luxor! Thank you Mike for such an amazing and unforgettable trip!

Our trip in Egypt and the Nile River cruise were truly incredible! We were on a private tour of seven with Mike, who has been a phenomenal tour guide for us. From start to finish, Mike's communication was exceptional, exceeding our expectations. He is very responsive and on time. His in-depth knowledge of historical sites in Aswan: the Philae Temple, Abu Simbel Temple, and the Nubian Village in is remarkable. The trips to the Karnak Temple, the Luxor Temple, the Hatshepsut Temples and the Valley of the Kings were equally inspiring and educational!! Mike also went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience – from recording videos of the birds chirping along the Nile river, arranging a breathtaking hot air balloon ride, taking us to the essential oil, spice shops, the night market, and the stone factory per our request. He was truly an amazing person and guide who made sure everyone’s interests and needs were taken care of throughout the trip. As for our trip in Cairo, our friendly, knowledgeable guide, Faddy not only took us to the majestic pyramid, but also arranged our group for camel ride, an educational visit to the Egyptian museum, a stop at the papyrus shop, the cotton clothing store, and an authentic Egyptian restaurant for the delicious national Koshari. It was well planned and fun experience for us all! Last but not the least, my suggestion would be stay attentive to Mike’s tips about the culture and surrounding environment - it would save you a lot of stress and trouble. High degree of attention to detail provided by Go Luxor Tours, safety and trust by relying on a well crafted tour agenda. I am a New Yorker/ Solo Female traveler visiting Luxor for the first time and the minute I connected with Mike, I knew Go Luxor Tours was the best choice. The team makes your comfort and safety priority while allowing for flexibility when covering stops, time and add ons. My designated tour guide (Shereen) is extremely knowledgeable and takes great pride in her craft in ancient Egyptian history. I learned a great deal from the hours spent together with immense amount of patience to cover questions and cover explanations. A bucket list trip that was made a reality thanks to Go Luxor! I will definitely return and continue to recommend to friends and family. Funny story - while traveling from Cairo to Luxor to meet the team, I came across another two female travelers (Mom-daughter) who were looking for tour options. I immediately connected them with Mike and by the time we landed in Luxor they already had a plan and arranged option with Go Luxor. Forever grateful for the hospitality and make me feel at home while in Luxo. ;) PS- Four Seasons hotel is building a massive property in Luxor so this is also coming up to the area.

We took 4 tours with Go Luxor Tours - The Giza Pyramids & Museum, Luxor East (Karnak and Luxor Temples), Luxor West and Abu Simbel, as well as private transfer from Luxor to Aswan. As 2 young female travellers, we really appreciate how Mike, the liaison / coordinator, checked in frequently with us to make sure we were safe and having a good time. The best feature of GoLuxor’s service is adaptiveness. We did not vibe very well with the guiding style of our Luxor West guide, and Mike acted swiftly on our feedback and got us a new guide which perfectly fit our preferences for the next day. He was really responsive, and helped us adapt to Egypt, even outside the scope of the tours per se (e.g helping call our Elphantine Island accomodations to make sure we could navigate to them safely, providing detailed instructions on how to take the train from aswan to cairo). 10/10 rating for customer service in this regard! If you are choosing between private or group tour elsewhere, after having done all these tours, I would personally really recommend doing Giza Pyramids and the Luxor East with GoLuxor at least. These sites have so many small details you would miss without a guide with you, and the private guides we had (shoutout especially to Albeer for Giza and Bishoy for Luxor East) were so patient in answering our hundreds of questions, and their passion and enthusiasm made the experience all the more magical! It was so cool especially watching them read the random heiroglyphs we would point to on demand. I can’t lie, Egypt itself is a bit overwhelming as 2 female solo travellers (especially tipping culture, if you come from non-tipping countries pls pls PLS ask either the company or your hosts or anybody for advice because this was personally the most jarring part for me) but GoLuxor tours definitely helped make our experience overall a beautiful and enjoyable one!

I personally think a guide is really needed for this experience. The explanations and details given by our guide, Bishoy, was really helpful in understanding the various minute yet important details of the features of the temples. He was also fun to joke with and was able to answer our questions regarding the temples and the culture in Egypt in general! I would really recommend his presence in your tours as well.
